I've been feeling anger lately. I've long considered anger something to be avoided. It messes with your judgement and in my experience a decision that's made without anger is always better than one that is. (Of course, I don't remember things well, so everything I say is wrong.) Still, I can't avoid it. It's probably better for me psychologically to let this out, but wouldn't that be selfish and in general unwise?

I've been playing around with Illogicopedia lately. It's sort of like Uncyclopedia but a whole lot more pointless. I like to write random nonsense there. Here is an example.

My friends page is amazingly short when I only look at the filter for actual people's journals.

Today I went places with Kotra's family again. We ate stuff then saw The Namesake, which was good. I feel odd being with them since I'm the only non-family member there... although I feel more odd around most people. They're really nice, though.

I've been trying to learn to play the opening of RHCP's Under The Bridge for several weeks. I finally got it a few days ago... and now I can't play it anymore. It's like instead of plateauing, I... mountained. Dots...

That is so awesome!

As for anger, there may be something to the idea that the effects of suppressing your anger are ultimately at least as unpleasant to others as the release of the anger would have been. So you risk being selfish and unwise either way, really! I really wanted to be a Vulcan when I was in high school.

With the awesome, I was referring to the Illogicopedia. I now realize it was totally unclear that this was the case.

Anger is not really awesome, and I don't know if The Namesake is awesome or not.

Ellipses are fairly awesome though....

Hey, you asked the question while I was preemptively answering it! Then I found it in my Gmail!

But then I don't seem to have gotten this next comment until 3 a.m. The craziness continues!

I think it's healthier to get anger out if it's bothering you, otherwise it will fester inside of you and such. At least that's my experience.

Yeah, but then I end up acting stupid.

Such is life. Emotions make people act stupid.

What you have to do is find a way to deal with the anger in such a way that it isn't staying inside you but it also isn't hurting anyone, including yourself. Channeling it into something else is good--writing in my journal helps a whole lot for me, with any overwhelming emotion actually.

I agree. There are a bunch of ways to blow off steam. Some people go out jogging, some people pump iron, some people have angry, violent sex, and some people get wasted in a futile, self-destructive attempt at forgetting their problems. Personally, I like to make little strangled sobs as I flailingly punch my mattress, my tiny fists bouncing off the springs ineffectively. Um. *cough*
Anyway, I agree (no sarcasm).
